Principal & Senior Designer
Iris Zonlight was born in Holland and studied Design at the Charles Montaigne Academy in Amsterdam. Thereafter her passion for design and fashion took her to New York City where she designed and manufactured private label accessories for high end European fashion companies such as Escada, Bogner, Etienne Aigner. She also established her own private label called Iris Zonlight NY for pro7 home shopping TV in Germany and her designs were sold throughout Europe.
In 2005, Iris and her family relocated to the Hamptons, where she moved her design studio to Southampton. This company called IZ-Hampton Design designed and staged the interiors of many homes, offices and estates, from charming Hampton cottages to sleek modern homes and grand city penthouses. In 2007, she obtained her real estate license and started privately investing.
In 2012, she joined Sotheby's International Realty. Soon after Blue Ocean Design was created, recognizing a niche in the market utilizing her experience and talent in assisting clients in marketing their homes, whether for rent or sale.
Born in Milan and raised in Manhattan, Mario Masciadri graduated New York University’s School of Business in 1981. Driven by his passion for architecture and interior design, he immediately embarked on a 30 year career as a construction professional. Having worked in the U.S. and Europe, he is well versed in project development and management of high-end, detail oriented builds and interior renovations. He has represented both the vendors and clients sides of the industry working with demanding clients such as Dior, Versace, Armani, Bulgari, Philippe Starck, Iceberg and the Mark Hotel. He also supervised public works in each of New York City’s three major airports. From restoring 18th century country estates in Italy to brownstone gut renovations and luxury homes in the Hamptons, Mario Masciadri brings to Blue Ocean Design a one of a kind perspective in understanding and accommodating clients who know what they want and when only the best will do.
Co-founder / Collaborative Designer
Deborah founded Blue Ocean Design with Iris and today advises and assists on special projects and supports the development of BOD.
A graduate of Syracuse University, Deborah formerly worked in New York City in the fashion industry and later merged those creative skills into the real estate and interior design world by virtue of many years of collaborative work with her family of real estate developers.
Deborah is also Senior Global Real Estate Advisor with Sotheby's International Realty since 1993 and thus effectively has combined this experience in order to successfully merge high end interior design and real estate.
Swedish born Lilielle Bucks has spent her life living in Stockholm, London and New York, and has now found her forever home in Sag Harbor. She has worked for many years in the creative fields of fashion and photography, where she worked for a New York City top model agency and in commercial and residential interior design. She draws her inspiration from her Scandinavian roots, and credits her worldwide travel experience for giving her work a blend of sophistication and charm.
Isabelle is originally from Paris, France. She moved to New York City in 1981 and is a design assistant for Iris Zonlight. Working as an Art Consultant for many years in NY, Isabelle's passion for art and aesthetics believes that original artwork brings a unique and genuine touch to a living space.
Michelle recently joined the Blue Ocean Design team after interning with the company. Born in Manhattan, raised and educated in Hungary, Michelle studied Interior Design and Marketing-Administration at Szamalk Technical College in Budapest.
